Bicyclist Dies After Being Hit By Pickup Truck On 44th Ave. East In Bradenton
BRADENTON FL -A man from Bradenton has died after being struck by a pickup truck while riding a bicycle Thursday night.
The crash took place in Bradenton, as a 73-year-old man from Bradenton was riding a bicycle on 44th Avenue East in the center lane, approaching the intersection with Pine Street.
As the man traveled eastbound, a pickup truck driven by a 19-year-old man from Bradenton was also traveling east on 44th Avenue East, in the immediate vicinity of the cyclist.
At 4:30:00 PM, the cyclist turned to the right and traveled directly into the path of the oncoming pickup truck.
The left front of the pickup truck crashed into cyclist.
After the collision, the 73-year-old man became separated from the bicycle and came to a stop in the center left-turn lane of 44th Avenue East .
The pickup truck came to a stop in the southern shoulder of 44th Avenue East.
First responders pronounced the cyclist deceased at the scene of the crash.
