Bradenton Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Hit And Run Crash On 26th Street West
MANATEE COUNTY - Florida Highway Patrol reported a motorcyclist is in serious condition after a hit-and-run crash Monday morning.
The crash took place as a 31 year old man from Bradenton was riding a motorcycle on 26th Street West approaching the intersection with 38th Ave West on northbound in the inside lane.
As the motorcyclist closed on the intersection from the south, an unknown person driving a dark-colored Hyundai Sonata (2011 - 2014 model) was approaching the intersection with 38th from the north, in the left turn lane.
At approximately 7:30 PM, the driver of the car attempted to make their left turn and drove directly into the path of the oncoming motorcycle.
As a result the car crashed into motorcycle, causing the motorcycle to overturn before finally coming to a stop in the southbound left turn lane of 26th Street West.
After crashing into the motorcycle the driver of the Hyundai Sonata sedan finished the turn and fled the scene driving eastbound on 38th Avenue West.
The motorcyclist was seriously injured in the crash and taken to a local trauma center for treatment.
